Apple Holler

We all went to the Apple Holler to do some Fall Activities.  We started out having a delicious breakfast buffet.  Then we paid way too much $$ to pick apples that were mostly either already picked or on the ground.  Most of the apples could only be reached by either me jumping or lifting Owen high into the air.  We did have a wagon ride out to the orchard and were able to fill 2 small bags with apples.  They also had many activities for kids.  All in all it was a great day, and the Dude had a blast.  (I only mention the apple picking to remember how funny it was....and possibly remind us not to do the same thing next year.)  Everything else was outstanding....

Scarecrow

The Delafield Library had a Make your own Scarecrow evening this past Friday.  The kids all got to make their own scarecrow.  First they drew the face on the bag, then picked out the shirt, pants, and hat, and finally stuffed them with paper.  After much deliberation (basically Em & I throwing out suggestions which met a constant barrage of "NO" from Owen) we came up with the name of "Fire Hazard" for our scarecrow.  (As an insurance underwriter I saw how much flammable paper went into that scarecrow and it just came to me....and Owen approved.)

Milwaukee Public Museum

Owen is very into dinosaurs right now.  He watches a TV show called Dino Dan and gathers his dinosaurs with him while he watches it.  Every time a dinosaur that he owns appears on screen, he grabs it and says, "Got that one!"  (Honestly, he probably does it 15 times every episode.)

So I thought that a trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum would be in order and he was impressed with all of the dinosaur bones / exhibits that they had.....and he was bored with all of the pottery / artwork of civilizations around the world.  (We went through those VERY fast.)
